Lindsay Lohan Arrested In New York City

Lindsay Lohan was arrested in New York City early Wednesday morning after allegedly tapping a pedestrian with her Porsche and fleeing the scene.

According to law enforcement officials, Lohan hit the knee of a man (who has since been hospitalized and released with no visible injuries) as she was attempting to park her Porsche in front of her hotel at roughly 2 a.m. One of Lindsay's passengers reportedly got out of her car to check if the collision damaged her vehicle, before the group left the car and entered the hotel.

Police were called and Lohan was arrested as she was exiting the hotel about 30 minutes after the incident occured. Lohan was reportedly booked on a misdemeanor charge for leaving the scene of an accident. She has since been released.

Needless to say that this isn't the first time Lohan has been accused of a hit-and-run. In March, Lohan was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run in Hollywood, but Lindsay with a long court history was never prosecuted due to the lack of a credible witness.

Lohan's arrest comes just days after Lindsay tweeted about the lack of "punishment" when it comes to her fellow child star Amanda Bynes' recent increase of traffic violations.

"Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?" Lohan tweeted.

Lohan's rep Steve Honig told The Huffington Post: "While some of the facts are still being gathered, it appears that this is much ado about nothing. We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the coming weeks and the claims being made against Lindsay will be proven untrue."

The Daily News reported that according to the man allegedly hit by Lohan's vehicle, Lindsay "smelled like alcohol" and was "slurring" her words.

The most bizarre thing is that Lohan reportedly had "no idea" she came in contact with a pedestrian...

What do you think? Crazy eh?
