Liam Hemsworth Quotes

1. (on rejection) I'm nothing like my character in the film, not at all, to be honest. He's very persistent when Miley's character gives him the brush off. If I was to get turned down by a girl, I'd just give up and say: "Oh well." I don't have any of that kind of motivation to keep going. I would just be embarrassed and would try to never think about it again if I was to get turned down. I would find it humiliating.

2. One of the biggest inspirations before I started shooting came from my brother, when he texted me and said: "Hey, fatty, it's called "The Hunger Games", not "The Eating Games". So I started working out a lot more and eating a lot less.

3. I feel like the books were just written like a movie. You read it and you can just kind of see everything. Before I went in to read with the director, I read the first book and I loved it. I didn't realize how good the writing was. And then I went in and read with Gary Ross, and that was it.

4. (on Miley Cyrus) Miley's music will sneak in there every now and then. "The Climb" is good or "Party in the USA". Even better, I will just get her to sing to me while I work out!

5. My character's kind of grown up with Katniss. The beginning of the story, they're more or less brother and sister than anything. They're best friends. They've been keeping each other alive. It's a little frustrating, for the character. As the character, not as me.

6. (on his parents meeting Miley Cyrus) Yeah, they loved her. It was really cool to show Miley where I'm from and how I grew up, and it's a completely different world to where she's from.

7. I learn more with every job, and I'm very thankful for where I am.

8. The fans that I have met so far have been nothing but supportive and extremely passionate about the books. I feel so honored to meet all these people. Something like this, which I think is bigger than anyone in the film, it's pretty crazy.

9. (on Miley Cyrus) Working with Miley was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. From the first time we read, it was like I had known her before.

10. I go down to Newport and Huntington a lot. It's more crowded than where I grew up on Phillip Island, but I think it's helped me adjust to life in America - getting into the water as much as I can.

11. The people that live in these districts, they don't want to watch it. They don't want to see their children die or killing other people. The only people that it is entertainment to are the people in the capital that have been brainwashed and are misguided and living in a completely unrealistic kind of world.

12. (on his relationship with Miley Cyrus) The main thing is that we know how we feel. We know what's going on. It can get complicated bringing the rest of the world into it.

13. If we get to shoot the third one, which I'm really hoping we do, the third one's great. There's a big uprising and rebellion, and my character Gale's a big part of that. If we get to shoot that, I'll be very, very pleased.

14. (on kissing Miley Cyrus while shooting the movie "The Last Song") I guess we did kiss a lot in the film. The hardest thing was the first kiss. Once you got that out of the way, kissing was fun.

15. We love making movies. We got into the business to make movies. At the end of the day, whether you're doing a low budget film or a big budget film, you want it to do well and you want people to see it. That's the whole point. You want to put some kind of message in it.

16. At this point, I'm happy to be part of something special. As an actor I liked to choose scripts that I'm passionate about.

17. (on Miley Cyrus) She does a lot of dancing - so that's her workout. I couldn't keep up with her dancing because she's super flexible and she's throwing up her legs up around her head and stuff like that.

18. We don't have shopping centers or traffic lights or anything like that, where I live at least.

19. We shot in a place called Asheville, which is like beautiful, beautiful forests. And then part of it we shot all the reaping stuff, which was just crazy - because the reaping in the book and in the script is such an emotional thing for everyone. It really did feel like that when we were shooting it.

20. (on Miley Cyrus) We spent every day together in Georgia. We were on the set together and hanging out together every day. So for me and her, it wasn't hard to create a good chemistry on screen because we enjoy being around each other in real life. It was just easy.

21. Gary Ross is amazing. He's just - he always has a billion ideas of what he wants, but has a very clear perspective also; he just makes it work. He really does. He's trying different things and making everything look amazing.

22. (on Miley Cyrus' family) Their whole family's great. They've always been super friendly to me and very welcoming. I love their family. Her parents are great, they're very friendly people.

23. I could come in and gather some pictures of myself to put on her wall and see what she says. Ill sign it for her as well, and it will say: "Dear Miley, best wishes with the new house!"

24. We're showing a situation that these kids are caught in and being forced to do but the violence is not glorified. Most of the kids in there are not wanting to be doing it.

25. (on Miley Cyrus) There is this place in Nashville called "Steak and Shake", which is pretty much the best food, ever. That is our secret, sexy place to go. When I look over at her when she's biting into a steak sandwich and there is some steak sauce dripping down her chin, there is nothing sexier.
