Tom Cruise: "My Job As Actor Is Like Fighting In Afghanistan"

According to reports, Tom Cruise considers his job as an actor is like being a soldier in Afghanistan or an Olympic athlete during the deposition that was taken as part of his $50 million lawsuit against "Life & Style" magazine.

According to documents obtained by celebrity website TMZ, Cruise, 51, at one point talks about location shoots in the Middle East, claiming that they are similar to serving a military tour in Afghanistan.

"That's what it feels like. And certainly on this last movie, it was brutal. It was brutal," Cruise explained.

In terms of his physical preparation, Cruise was quoted as saying: "There is difficult physical stamina and preparation. Sometimes I've spent months, a year, and sometimes two years preparing for a single film."

"A sprinter for the Olympics, they only have to run two races a day. When I'm shooting, I could potentially have to run 30, 40 races a day, day after day," Cruise noted.
