Oscars 2014 "In Memoriam" Tribute Snubs Cory Monteith, Tom Clancy And James Avery

The 86th Academy Awards "In Memoriam" tribute honored several entertainment industry personalities who passed away over the past year such as Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Walker, Roger Ebert, Sid Caesar and Shirley Temple Black. The lineup even referred to camera assistant Sarah Jones who was tragically killed last week by a train during pre-production on Greg Allman's biopic "Midnight Rider."

But there were some rather important names noticeably missing from the segment. Firstly, Cory Monteith, who died last July from a drug overdose after a long-term battle with drug abuse, was not acknowledged. While famous for his character as Finn Hudson on the FOX hit "Glee," he had begun to develop a presence on the silver screen, starring in movies such as "Monte Carlo" and "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie."

But Monteith wasn't the only remarkable figure who wasn't featured. Former "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" star James Avery, who also made a name for himself in films like "Dr. Doolittle 2" and "Danika", was not included. Nor was Tom Clancy, popular espionage and military science writer who wrote various stories which were adapted into hit Hollywood movies such as "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit," "The Hunt for Red October" and "Patriot Games."
