Joan Rivers Cardiac Arrest (Hospital Statement)

Joan Rivers is now being treated at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York after being hospitalized when she went into cardiac arrest during an operation.

According to several reports, Rivers' condition has been described as "critical," with some outlets claiming that she has since been upgraded to "stable."

Sid Dinsay, a rep for Mount Sinai, has issued the following statement:

"This morning, Joan Rivers was taken to The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she is being attended to. Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support. We will provide an update on her condition as it becomes available."

Just in case you have missed it, shortly after 9:30 a.m., an emergency call was placed from the outpatient facility where the "Fashion Police" co-host had gone for a throat operation on her vocal cords when the complications took place.

Rivers, whose real name is Joan Alexandra Molinsky, had reportedly stopped breathing.

Rivers' daughter Melissa soon boarded a plane for New York.
