McKayla Maroney Takes Legal Action For Underage Leaked Naked Photos

McKayla Maroney is taking legal action against websites that shared the hacked nude photos of her, because she was underage at the time they were shot.

Maroney, 18, was one of the many celebrities in the enormous celebrity naked photo leak on Sunday.

Maroney, who turned 18 in December, initially revealed on twitter that her nudes were phony.

The artistic gymnast tweeted: "The fake photos of me are crazy!!"

Perhaps the snapshots are real because, according to celebrity website TMZ, Maroney's attorneys wrote a letter to Porn.com demanding that the pictures be deleted immediately because she was under 18 when some of the images were taken.

Other outlets received a different letter, claiming that Maroney owns the copyright to the stolen pictures.

On Tuesday, Reddit posted a warning to its users that any photos of McKayla would be removed because they could likely be deemed as child pornography.

Although she was of legal age, after photos of a completely nude Jennifer Lawrence emerged online, the star's spokesperson released the following statement: "The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence."

When naked photos of Kate Upton and her boyfriend Justin Verlander hit the web, Upton's lawyer declared: "We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible."

The FBI is investigating the matter.
