Louis Tomlinson Blasts Report About His "Gay" Apple Logo Shirt

Louis Tomlinson is infuriated about an article in The Independent that misinterpreted his Apple shirt to mean he was supporting Tim Cook, the brand's CEO who recently confirmed that he is gay.

On Monday, Tomlinson, 22, slammed the outlet's author Jenn Selby on twitter, although it seems the One Direction singer may have misread the article as saying that he is gay.

According to the story, Louis "showed his support" for Cook when he lately wore a T-shirt bearing the Apple logo that features stripes of rainbow colors. Except the multi-colored version was Apple's main logo for years in the 1980s and 1990s and has nothing to do with the LGBT community.

Tomlinson wrote: "@JennSelby The fact that you work for such a "credible" paper and you would talk such rubbish is laughable. I am in fact straight. Google "original apple logo" and you will see the one printed on my shirt that you reported on. Trying to look for a promotion? F*cking ridiculous I even have to tweet that sh*t!"

While the original story appears to have misread the singer's fashion choice as particular support for Cook, it also never says Tomlinson himself is gay. Much of his annoyance over what he thought to be the insinuation that he is homosexual possibly comes not from any anti-gay sentiment on his part, but rather a persistent rumor that he and bandmate Harry Styles are gay. Last week Styles was the subject of new bisexual rumors after outlets misunderstood his answer to a fan's question about what he looks for in a woman.

This is not the first time Tomlinson has openly blasted a British newspaper. In 2013, he dissed The Mirror for alleging that his mother broke up the marriage of a pair for whom she worked as midwife.
