"Nikita" And "24" Star Alberta Watson Dead At 60

Canadian actress Alberta Watson has died. She was 60.


"It is the case, sadly. Alberta passed away on Saturday evening at Kensington Hospice in Toronto. Her husband Ken was by her side. We await details of a memorial service for her," the star's agent told ET Canada.


Watson was best known for her role of Senator Madeline Pierce in the TV series "Nikita" and CTU Director Erin Driscoll in the show "24". She also played a supporting role in the Canadian television series "The Border" as the Minister of Public Safety and guest-starred in "Heartland" as Sarah Craven.


Watson was diagnosed with lymphoma in 1998, for which she had to undergo chemotherapy treatment.
