Madonna Has A Lot In Common With Picasso

If you have ever gone to a Madonna show, you will notice that the Queen of Pop is impressively energetic.

Madonna, 56, has no plans of retiring anytime soon.

In a recent interview with the "Associated Press", the pop icon revealed that she wants to keep on working into her golden years.

"I like to compare myself to other kinds of artists like Picasso. He kept painting and painting until the day he died," Madonna explained, noting: "I don't think there's a time, a date, an expiration date for being creative. I think you go until you don't have anymore to say."

If anyone can prove that an expiration date is pointless, that's undeniably Madonna

Just in the rare case you don't know, Madonna began her career in 1983, when she was 25, and her pop tracks and fishnet stockings soon became a symbol of the 1980s. She never stopped reinventing herself since then, lasting longer than all the rest of her peers.

Madonna most likely has something on her mind when she attempts to compare herself to Picasso

Madonna's approach, just like the Spanish painter's, is separated into obvious, significant eras: Picasso had his Rose and Blue Periods; Madonna went through her "Blond Ambition" phase and sexually explicit "Erotica" era. Picasso resuscitated his painting with Cubism; Madonna discovered Kabbalah and changed her sound with "Ray of Light."

Picasso and Madonna have also a lot in common regarding their private lives: Picasso was an infamous playboy who couldn't resist to younger women, while Madonna is attracted to younger men and manages to surround herself with talented young individuals.

In 2003, Madonna turned heads at the VMAs when she shared a hot kiss on stage with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera during a medley performance of "Hollywood" and "Like A Virgin." For her 2008 album "Hard Candy", she teamed up with Pharrell and Justin Timberlake. Last year, she performed a surprise duet with Miley Cyrus at MTV Unplugged special. This June, Madonna collaborated with several celebrities such as Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, Rita Ora, Beyonce, Diplo, Kanye West and Chris Rock for the new video of her song "Bitch I'm Madonna".
