Olivia Wilde Reveals Why Female Superheroes Need To Change

Olivia Wilde recently talked about why female superheroes should change.

In an interview with CinemaBlend, Wilde, 31, said: "I'm a big fan of superhero films, and I have so much respect for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The thing with female superheroes is that, in order to be powerful, they are flawless. The idea of kick-ass power lacks a certain nuance, at times. There is something to be said for a female director working to create a female superhero that perhaps (has) a little more complexity."

The actress added: "Marvel has been so smart about casting unexpected people for these roles. Look at what Robert Downey (Jr.) brought to Iron Man. A real, dry sense of humor and a complexity to his hero balance. I think that the way these Marvel heroes are written, the female superheroes included, do have complexity and flaws. But I think when they are translated into film, the women can become these ultimate goddesses of perfection and I would love to create a female Marvel character who is just as unexpected and complex as some of the male characters as Iron Man. I think that would be really cool!"

Penelope Cruz Opens Up About "Zoolander 2"

Penelope Cruz recently talked about teaming up with Ben Stiller for "Zoolander 2"

"I had a great time. I was there almost three months in Italy. And I mean for all of the fans of the first one, I can tell them, I'm almost 100% sure, no I'm 100% sure, that this is going to be even better! It's really funny. It's hilarious. Ben is such a hard worker and so talented, and you know to be there everyday with Ben and Owen, I laughed a lot. And Ben is very serious when he's working, but he forgets that he's wearing these absurd outfits when he's directing me. I laughed a lot," Cruz, 41, told Harper's Bazaar.

Matt Damon Apologizes For His Comments About Diversity In Film (STATEMENT)

Matt Damon has released a statement, in which he apologizes for the controversial claims he made on "Project Greenlight" about diversity in film.

"I believe deeply that there need to be more diverse filmmakers making movies. I love making movies. It's what I have chosen to do with my life and I want every young person watching "Project Greenlight" to believe that filmmaking is a viable form of creative expression for them too," Damon, 44, revealed.

"My comments were part of a much broader conversation about diversity in Hollywood and the fundamental nature of "Project Greenlight" which did not make the show. I am sorry that they offended some people, but, at the very least, I am happy that they started a conversation about diversity in Hollywood. That is an ongoing conversation that we all should be having," the actor added.
